2023/04/21 Tutorial and Dragon Den

In week 1, I meet my new tutor and new project group. Also, I attended the Dragon Den with Dominic Stone and Makumbe. After discussion with tutors and colleagues, I confirm my project’s final approach will be an interactive workshop. I’ll design a tool to connect with people who join my workshop. But currently, I need to find out what the tool looks like and where the workshop host at. During the group tutorial, my colleague Jun suggests I draw the material for my question from my early research, which is focus on people who have unhealth eat habit. I can help them notice the early sign of eating disorder. It’s really inspires me, help my project more light, extend the audience scop.

My project name is “Bridge”. Tuor David asks, “What interaction can be Bridge?” He mentions a game called “Oblique Situation”, a card game. Players need to follow the instructions on the cards to do the relevant things. Maybe I can make a series of cards like “OBLIQUE STRATEGIES”. In addition, David also suggests that I arrange a drawing workshop and invite my audience to draw self-portraits, and then I draw portraits for them. Make a “before-after” vision. Both ideas are excellent and inspiring.

Based on the tutorial, the tutors from Dragon Den agree with the “arts therapy workshop” idea. They suggest I need to find experts from the relevant fields. And be careful about the boundaries between public and private. Rember keeps functioning and evaluating my project.

I find a useful website called “Beat”- Get information and support – Beat (beateatingdisorders.org.uk). which is a fantastic charity offering specialist information, support and advice surrounding eating disorders.
